One thing never changed for Annette Nancarrow—her fascination with art in all its forms.

In 1949 Annette Nancarrow won a mural-painting contest at the Hotel Borda in Taxco.

Influenced by Gaugin’s decision to leave Paris and live in Tahiti, Annette chose Acapulco for her new life.

Living in Acapulco, Annette immersed herself in an active social life among locals, Hollywood celebrities, and other famous travelers.

Throughout her life, Annette Nancarrow welcomed artists, musicians, writers, movie stars, and other active and creative people into her world.

Annette and Stan Smith were married only a few years. In 1967, at the age of sixty, Annette sells her house in Acapulco, rents an apartment in Mexico City as well as one on East 38th Street in New York.
